Excellent Page-Turner Romance

Winning the Deputy's Heart is a very sweet romance. I read it in one setting, and I loved every page of the story.

I loved that the deputy wasn't after a young woman, but wanted a more mature wife. It also made him more likeable.

Abigail doesn't know her husband very well, of course, so when a young saloon girl tells her that she has an affair with her husband, she doesn't know what to think, and she's haunted by jealousy. I liked the way she dealt with that feeling, because yes, it can harm a marriage.

Great book, looking forward to the next one :)

I have now read the first two books in this series and can't wait to read the third. I know they can be read as a story by itself but this also would have been a great story as one book.

It was nice, short, romance novel.

I liked it. It was a short, clean romance. Focused a lot on how heroine has to overcome jealousy that comes about from local saloon gall making trouble for the couple. Heroine does pray for help with her jealousy as hero never gives her reason to doubt him.

Heroine has had it rough, but she is ready to settle down. She agrees to marry deputy of small town as mail order bride. He was looking for someone more mature and older to settle with. I agreed, considering he had tough job and needed someone that would understand the type job he had. Unfortunately, he is in high demand and there is a situation he is called off too right upon the time he is asked to kiss the bride. This leaves very little time between them, until he settles this issue. While he never encourages the saloon gall, and even scolds her for the way he treats heroine, this still doesn't stop her from making trouble for them.

Things come to head when heroine's jealousy gets the better of her and she goes to see things for herself. This actually places her in danger, but is also allows for her to kill two birds with one stone (as saying goes). We get satisfying ending.

This was short, clean read. I enjoyed reading it with my KU. I also enjoy reading other stories by author. Would recommend this read.

Very interesting and quite unique story

It is a quite accurate depicting of the failings of the soviet state and capitalist state alike. But the fact that it had such a clarity about Soviet situation in 1984 rather than post 1990 it is uncany compared to what we in the west knew then.

Pain of the generation

This book by Aksyonov is definately nowhere near "crap" like some reader wrote . Ironically , the same reader refferes to A.Rybakov ( !!! ) as a "good Russian modern author". Well , I guess the same reader preffers Pat Boone over Elvis too . Pity, pity, pity on that reader . The Island ( like most of Aksyonov's works ) has a great deal of pain and tortured social and civic selves of the people who are trapped between their love for Russia and grim Communist reality of the USSR . And again , like many other Aksyonov works , the Island might be a bit too difficult to fully understand and relate to for most of the Westerners . It is hard for the one who never experienced the gloom and doom of living in the country of the "proletariat's dictatorship" to fully believe that it was REALLY that bad . In this book the Island is a model of what modern Russia could have been if not for the violent Communist coup of 1917 that brought all the pain and misery in the world to Russia . The Island of Crimea is a great book ,well-written , with enough joy and enough pain to be read and liked by many .

An excellent book on multiple levels

1. Fun to read 2. Amazingly prescient -- anticipates CNN, constant media coverage, etc. before these were ever invented in the West -- how someone in state-censored Russia could have anticipated and described it is a wonder. 3. An excellent satire, not just of Russian and communist mores and values, but also of Western mores and values as well. 4. It was haunting to read this book just as the turnover of Hong Kong to China was occurring -- many of the characters' comments in this book anticipated the same things being said 10-20 years later in Time and Newsweek.

Excellent book

High quality paper, high quality images
Everything an oral radiologist needs to know. What makes this book different is that images are not conventional panoramic and intraoral images, images are all of advanced modalities like CT, CBCT, PET with CT and MRI
I dont think a dentist is interested in this amount of information regarding oral and maxillofacial pathology especially radiographic appearance of lesions and radiographic differential diagnosis. it is best suited for oral and maxillofacial radiologists
I advice beginners and dental students to start with 'white and pharaoh; oral radiology principles and interpretation' first because it reviews the basic information regarding radiographic appearance of oral and maxillofacial pathology
Diagnostic imaging; oral and maxillofacial is best suited for oral radiologists who want to expand their knowledge and diagnostic skills.
The very big collection of images help the radiologist become more familiar with the radiographic appearance of different lesions and the comment besides images helps the radiologist confirm their information and improve the writing style in my point of view

Comprehensive text for dental 3D imaging

The dental market has been flooded with offers of 3D imaging machines. There are very few comprehensive texts or
courses for dentists to learn in depth what 3D imaging can truly offer. After reading a half dozen texts over the last 5 years, this is the most comprehensive treatment of the subject from normal anatomy to pathologic differential diagnosis.

About the Author
Gerard J. Connors, PhD, is Senior Research Scientist and former Director of the University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions. His clinical research interests include treatment of substance use disorders, patient-treatment matching, early interventions with heavy drinkers, the role of the therapeutic alliance in addictions treatment, and treatment outcome evaluation. Dr. Connors has authored or coauthored over 100 articles, book chapters, and books in the area of alcoholism and addictive behaviors.

Carlo C. DiClemente, PhD, ABPP, is Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and Director of the MDQuit tobacco resource center and the Center for Community Collaboration at UMBC. He is co-developer of the transtheoretical model of behavior change and is the author of numerous scientific publications on motivation and behavior change. His books include Substance Abuse Treatment and the Stages of Change, Second Edition (coauthored with Gerard J. Connors, Mary Marden Velasquez, and Dennis M. Donovan), Addiction and Change: How Addictions Develop and Addicted People Recover, and the self-help resource Changing for Good. Dr. DiClemente is a recipient of numerous awards, including, most recently, a Presidential Citation from the American Psychological Association and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Addictive Behaviors Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.

Mary Marden Velasquez, PhD, is the Director of the Health Behavior Research and Training (HBRT) Institute at the School of Social Work, University of Texas at Austin. For more than 20 years, Dr. Velasquez has developed and studied behavioral interventions in the areas of group therapy, integrated primary care, screening and brief interventions, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, alcohol and other drug abuse, prenatal health, sexually transmitted disease and HIV prevention, and smoking cessation. With particular expertise in the use of evidence-based brief interventions in health care, substance abuse treatment, and criminal justice settings, she is the author of numerous publications on motivational interventions in high-risk settings. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).

Dennis M. Donovan, PhD, is Director of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He has over 200 publications, including five books, in the area of alcohol and drug dependence. He served as President of the Society of Psychologists in Addictive Behaviors and is a Fellow of Division 28 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse) and Division 50 (Society of Addiction Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.

Basic Information

When I received this book I was somewhat disappointed because my expectation was a full size book (should have read the advertisement better) with patient exercise examples that are progressing in a motivational / stages of change therapy group. The text is good, but I miss the suggested handouts and exercises I could use with my patients. The First Edition provided examples and suggestions on how to proceed with the group process. Well written, but did not help me much in my busy clinic.
